Today’s recipe is good if you want to pack on some muscle with few extra grams of protein. You will need:
¼ Pound of Sirloin Beef Steak
¼ Cup of Tomato sauce
4 Baby Carrots
½ Cup sliced Mushrooms
2 Scallion
½ Cup of Yogurt
1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil
1 Potato
1 Teaspoon of butter
5 Tablespoons of Milk
Dash of Vegeta
Dash of Black Pepper
The first thing you want to do for this meal is to put the potato in a pot of water and let it boil for 30-40 minutes. Make sure that through the whole time there is enough water, or you’ll end up accidentally baking the potato. The best way to make sure the potato is cooked is to stick a fork in it. If it sinks easily you can stop the boil.
While the potato is boiling, take 1 Scallion, chop it and put it in a medium sized pot with the Olive Oil. Sauté it for a minute on medium fire and add the sliced mushrooms.
Chop the baby carrots and add it to the pot. Keep on stirring. Dice the Steak into small cubes and add them to the pot. Season the pot with a dash of Vegeta and Black Pepper. Keep on stirring until the meat cubes are slightly cooked.
Add ¼ cup of Tomato sauce. In case you are out of tomato sauce you can use Organic Ketchup. My friends couldn’t believe that I made this with Ketchup the first time I made it for them. But it tastes just as good.
Add 1 cup of water to the whole stew and set it on medium fire for 30-40 minutes. If the juices are boiling too hard, they will evaporate fast, and you don’t want that. Lower the fire till it just simmers. Five minutes before you take the stew off the fire, add the Yogurt and let it cook in the stew.
When your potato is boiled, peel the skin and mash it. Add the butter and the milk. Stir it and add the second chopped scallion. Mix it and you have Scallion Mash.
This hearty dish got the name Batman Beef stew because of my nephew. To trick him into eating mushrooms, I used the Scallion mash to build a wall shaped like the Batman logo and pored the beef and mushroom stew in the center. He loved it. I hope you will too.
